Inbound Mobility Program

The Lincoln University College Inbound Mobility Program offers international students the opportunity to engage in academic and cultural experiences in Malaysia. This program enables students from around the world to study at Lincoln University College while enjoying the country’s vibrant culture and dynamic academic environment.

Whether for a short-term academic visit or a full semester exchange, students from partner and non-partner universities are welcome to participate. In addition, we offer flexible credit transfer options under the inbound exchange semester program. To adapt to the evolving global landscape, the program includes virtual, hybrid, and on-site learning formats.

Our Mobility Opportunities Include:

Short-Term Academic Visits:

  • Designed for students looking to experience Lincoln University College’s academic offerings for a short duration, typically between two weeks to three months.
  • Ideal for students seeking a brief but immersive academic and cultural experience.

Semester Exchange Program:

  • Students can spend an entire semester (14 weeks) at Lincoln University College, attending regular academic courses.
  • The program supports credit transfer back to the student’s home university.

Research Programs:

  • Students can participate in short or long-term research projects under the supervision of Lincoln University College faculty.
  • Ideal for postgraduate students or those looking to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Multimedia, Business, and more.

Internship Programs:

  • We offer internship opportunities for students wishing to gain practical industry experience in Malaysia.
  • Internships are available in various fields including Business, IT, Digital media, Healthcare, and more, allowing students to enhance their professional skills.

 

Eligibility Requirements: To participate in the inbound mobility program, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an active full-time student at their home university.
  • Have completed at least one semester at their home institution.
  • Comply with Lincoln University College’s rules and regulations and cover any expenses incurred during the program.

International Student Mobility Program: Processing Steps

Step 1: MOA Signing

  • A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is signed between Lincoln University College (LUC) and the partnering institution, officially establishing the student mobility program.

Step 2: Submission of Student Information

  • The partnering institution forwards a letter of reference along with detailed information about the students participating in the program to LUC.

Step 3: Application to EMGS

  • LUC submits the application to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), seeking official approval for the student mobility program.

Step 4: Invoice Issuance

  • LUC will issue an invoice for the program fee to each individual student, detailing the payment amount and terms.

Step 5: Document Submission by Partner Institution

  • The partnering institution must forward the following documents for each student to LUC:
  • Proof of payment (transaction slip)
  • Scanned copy of the student’s passport (all pages, including cover)
  • Health Declaration Form
  • Passport-sized photo with a white background
  • Student’s current academic records (results and transcripts)

Step 6: Visa Processing by LUC

  • LUC applies for the student’s visa with the Malaysian immigration authorities, initiating the official visa process for each participant.

Step 7: Application for Single Entry Visa (SEV)

  • Once the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) is received, each student applies for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) from their home country and prepares to travel to Malaysia.

Step 8: Arrival and Medical Check

  • Upon arrival in Malaysia, students will undergo a medical check as required by Malaysian regulations. After successful completion of the medical check, the Immigration Department will issue a visa for the approved duration of the mobility program.

Step 9: Program Participation

  • Students will begin and pursue their mobility program at Lincoln University College as per the agreed schedule.

Step 10: Visa Closure and Return

  • Upon completing the program, each student must apply for a Check-out Memo through LUC to close their visa. Once the process is completed, the student can return to their home country.

Application

A mobility program includes a Credited Exchange Program, Research, Internship and Visiting Program.

You need to fill in Lincoln Mobility Programme Application Form (click here) and submit through email at mobility@lincoln.edu.my with the checklist documents required. Uncomplete document will not be process.

The minimum period of study depends on the programme organized but the maximum is one (1) year.

You must an active and full-time student at your home university, have a sufficient fund to support for this program, must abide by government of Malaysia/LUC rules/regulations.

The processed of the offer letter is Three (3) months prior from the deadline of submission application form.

You may lay back and doing nothing. Once the offer letter is issued, we will email the list and things need to be taken care. Do not purchase the flight ticket until be advised.

You must notify LUC by sending the withdrawal letter to registrar@lincoln.edu.my. The withdrawal letter must be from your sending institution.

Visa

Before coming to Malaysia, the student is compulsory to apply for Visa Approval Letter (VAL) with LUC through Home University. This is mandatory for student who are coming for more than one (1) month.

No. Even though some countries have more than one (1) month Visa Social Pass expiry, it is not advisable to use it for the purpose of study. Once the Malaysia Immigration find out about it, both student and LUC will be wrongly accused for the misuse of visa.

Student may refer to the guidelines and policies in EMGS website HERE (https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/). Besides, inso@lincoln.edu.my will email the Student Visa Application User Guide to student together with the offer letter.

Student need to email the documents required by the EMGS and Malaysia
Immigration to inso@lincoln.edu.my. The office of International Students will act as a 3rd party to solve the issue occur. The progress of VAL application can be check HERE (https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm/).

Student must require the Single-Entry Visa (SEV) at Malaysia Embassy in their home country. For those country who did not require the SEV, the student may use VAL to enter the Malaysia. Kindly refer to Malaysia Embassy at your home country to confirm whether you need to get the SEV or not. Another part is, you only may purchase the flight ticket once your VAL application is ready to be downloaded.

Student are not allowed to enter Malaysia during the VAL is progress for any occasion. Once you have entered Malaysia during that time, your VAL application will be rejected by the Malaysia Immigration. To resume the application, student need to prepared the appeal letter and proof of exit stamp from Malaysia and enter stamp of your country.

Student Pass

Yes, it is mandatory. Student pass is a multiple entry visa which give you the permission to remain in Malaysia for the purposes of study at an approved institution on an approved course.

The student needs to apply through INSO office at LUC. INSO will email and do short briefing the require documents for student pass application.

The student should start apply for student pass from the first day of arrival in Malaysia. The student has only 30 days from the arrival date to complete and submit the documents for student pass.

If you submit a few days or after the deadline, you will be charge for special pass since there is not enough time for student pass processing. The cost must be borne by the student.

These are the compulsory document for submission:
1. Offer Letter
2. Passport
3. Visa Approval Letter (VAL)
4. Insurance Cover Note Medical Checkup Result

The student pass process might take two (2) until three (3) weeks from the date of submission to visa unit. The student will be received holding letter while passport was taken away for the student pass process. It is advisable for student not to go far away from Gombak in that time to avoid future problem.

Completion of Program

Once the student has received the final exam schedule, student may book their return flight ticket to home country. Then, the student required to submit their passport and documents for visa cancellation. The visa cancellation might take 2 weeks from the departure date.

Others

Malaysia only have two (2) season which is summer season and rainy season. The summer season usually started from March until October and rainy season is November until February. Thus, you may prepare the comfortable attire based on the season given.
