The program, Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology with Honours provides the students with the required skills and knowledge and is aptly suited for those individuals, who are willing to pursue a career in the engineering field or engineering sector. Entry Requirements :

  1. Passed Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia or equivalent with a minimum of a full pass or grade C in mathematics s and one science-related subjects and pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or equivalent with at least a pass in English; or
  2. Passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology Engineering in relevant areas of the PPT recognized by the government of Malaysia or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.0.
  3. For international students, test the English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 OR International Bahasa Inggeris Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or equivalent is required. If the student does not meet this requirement, the PPT must offer proficiency courses in English to ensure student mastery is sufficient to meet the program requirements. We aim to help the students to enhance their skills necessary for analyzing, managing and resolving problems related to Engineering Technology in the field of Electrical and Electronics. We also focus on the development of analytical and critical thinking skills of the students, so that they are able to prove their competency in their professional field of work.

POSTATEMENTS
PO1Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to defined and applied engineering procedures, processes, systems or methodologies in the field of electrical and electronics engineering technology.
PO2Problem analysis : Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze broadly- defined engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to electrical and electronics engineering technology.
PO3Design/ development of solutions : Design solutions for broadly defined electrical and electronics engineering technology problems and contribute to the design of systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4Investigation: Conduct investigations of broadly defined electrical and electronics engineering technology problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.
PO5Modern Tool Usage: Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to broadly defined electrical and electronics engineering technology activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

Program Objectives

What are the Program Objectives?

The program has four primary objectives: 1. Adopt the fundamentals to achieve technical knowledge and competency required for a technician in the field of Electrical and Electronic engineering. 2. Demonstrate thinking and scientific skills in solving basic Electrical and Electronic problems. 3. Communicate effectively and acquire social teamwork and leadership skills. 4. Practice good work ethics.

Entry Requirements

What is an entry requirement for this program?

Passed SPM with at least three credits in 3 subjects including Mathematics and one Science/Technical/Vocational subject. UEC, O-Level, Vocational and Technical Certificate with equivalent qualifications are also accepted. International students need a TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS score of 5.0.

International Student Entry Requirements

I am an international student, what are the entry requirements?

International students must meet requirements such as credits in three subjects (including Mathematics and one Science/Technical subject) or equivalent qualifications. TOEFL 500 or IELTS 5.0 is also required. More details can be found on the university website.

Local Student Entry Requirements

I am a Local student, what are the entry requirements for a bachelor’s degree in engineering?

Local students must meet requirements such as credits in three subjects (including Mathematics and one Science/Technical subject) or equivalent qualifications. International students must also meet language proficiency requirements. The university offers a bridge program to help meet these qualifications.

English Proficiency Requirement

Do I need any English Proficiency like IELTS/TOEFL for the Engineering Degree Programme?

Yes, you need IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500. Linguaskill 154 is also accepted. Lincoln University also offers an intensive English course if required.

Simultaneous Study

Can I do English Proficiency and Major my Course at the same time?

No, English proficiency is an entry requirement. However, Lincoln University has a 99% on-time graduation rate.

Subject Requirements

Any specific subject I should have good grades in my A-level to join the Engineering Degree?

Yes, you must have grades of C (2.0 out of 4.0) in Math and any one science subject such as Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.

Science Background

I am not from a science background; can I join the Engineering degree program?

A science background is compulsory. However, you can join the Foundation in Science program to bridge into the bachelor’s program.

Work Experience

Is work experience required for entry into an undergraduate engineering program?

No, work experience is not required if you meet academic qualifications such as passing A-levels or the Foundation in Science with the minimum grades.

Alternative Pathways

Are there alternative pathways if I don’t meet the standard entry qualifications?

Yes, you can pursue a diploma through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) if you meet age and relevant work experience requirements.

Age Limit

Is there an age limit for applying to engineering programs?

There is no age limit as long as you meet the entry requirements. APEL requires applicants to be 20 years or older for a Diploma.

Required Documents

What documents do I need to submit with my application for eligibility?

You need to submit original and certified true copies of academic transcripts and certificates, along with English translations if applicable.

Non-Science Background

Can I apply if I don’t have a strong background in science or math?

Yes, as long as you passed Mathematics and one science subject. The faculty offers tutoring support for those with a weaker background in these subjects.

Graduate Title

Once graduated, am I called a graduate Engineer?

No, you will be called an Engineering Technologist since the program focuses on Engineering Technology.

Industrial Training Support

Do you provide industrial training assistance?

Yes, assistance is provided for industrial training or on-the-job training.

Minimum Credit Requirement

What is the minimum credit?

You are required to complete a minimum of 93 credit hours to graduate.

Class Size

How many students are in the class?

Classes typically have around 20 students with a 1:25 lecturer-to-student ratio.

How do I receive the timetable for this course?

The timetable is usually provided four weeks ahead of the semester and can be viewed through the LLS student portal.

Is the program accredited by MQA?

Yes, the Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) (e.g., MQA/A7422).
