Programme Overview

The Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Lincoln University College is a postgraduate degree created for Chinese medicine practitioners who want to improve their expertise and integrate better into the health-care system, as well as graduates with a Chinese Medicine specialisation who want to pursue research. Students will learn the fundamental idea of Chinese medicine, become familiar with acupuncture knowledge and practises, and safely handle common suitable ailments using acupuncture in this course. The curriculum is aimed to cover the fundamentals of Chinese medicine in general, as well as acupuncture.

For successful completion of Masters degree each candidate should publish minimum of two research articles in Scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln University College affiliation.

Research topics on any one of the following specialties

i. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in the field or related fields with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate; or

ii. A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or

iii. A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of five years of working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

iv. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the Lincoln University College and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii).

For international students, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or its equivalent is needed. If a student does not meet this requirement, Lincoln University College must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme. This is normally conducted through an assessment process.
