Prof. Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, President, Lincoln University College Visits Shanxi Medical University

Prof. Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, Founder & President, Lincoln University College, Malaysia, visited the School of Nursing, Shanxi Medical University, China on October 22, 2023. He was accompanied by a delegation of three people – Dong Weiguo, Director, International Exchange Office of the Third Hospital, Fan Qinghua, Director, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and Jin Ji, Deputy Secretary, Party Committee, School of Nursing, and Yu Xiaoxia, Deputy Dean, School of International Education.

Dr. Bhaumik and his delegation conducted a thorough inspection and study at the school. The visit encompassed various areas, including the daily comprehensive training room, special nursing assessment station, infrastructure layout, equipment configuration for integrated theoretical and virtual teaching, simulation ward, and real first aid scenes. The examination extended to overall training room planning, cultural construction, management models, and equipment operation and maintenance.

Throughout the visit, both parties engaged in extensive discussions on the construction concepts, equipment configuration, efficient utilization, and daily operations of the nursing professional training base. Dr. Bhaumik expressed a desire to enhance collaboration through mutual visits and cooperation in subject exchanges, talent training, and other aspects in the future.

After the visit, a symposium was held, during which the two parties exchanged views on the history of their respective schools, the overview of nursing teaching and scientific research, and master’s and doctoral projects. Both parties expressed their hope to use this exchange as an opportunity to promote international exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
